Ramayana: Part 1 made ₹69.80 crore in India on its third day, as per Sacnilk. Saturday 7 November was the film’s best day so far. Day 1 had made ₹64.85 crore and Day 2 had made ₹48.05 crore. So Day 3 beat both.
The jump came on Saturday. Day 3 was up 45.3% from Day 2. The film played on 23,696 shows across India. Halls were 41.3% full on average. Each show made about ₹29,517 on average.

Three days, ₹182.70 crore in India
Add the three days up and the India total is ₹182.70 crore net. The gross in India is ₹218.25 crore. Gross is the full ticket money. Net is what is left after tax. That is why the two numbers are not the same.
Overseas, the film has made ₹157.25 crore so far. Day 3 alone added ₹60 crore from outside India. Put India gross and overseas together and the worldwide gross is ₹375.50 crore in 3 days.
The film crossed ₹150 crore net in India on Day 3 itself. Now all eyes are on ₹200 crore. That mark is expected today, Sunday 8 November, which is Diwali day. It is expected, not done yet. The final Day 4 number will come tomorrow morning.
Day 4 advance booking looks strong
Advance booking for Day 4 (Sunday) is ₹39.10 crore gross, as per Sacnilk live tracking reported by Business Today on 8 November. For Day 3, the advance was ₹46.82 crore gross by 5 AM on Saturday. Walk-in buyers then pushed the day to ₹69.80 crore net. Sunday is Diwali, so more people are free to go to the cinema. The trade expects a big Day 4.

Makers say ₹155 crore, Sacnilk says ₹127.50 crore
There is a gap between two Day 1 worldwide numbers. The makers, on their official @WorldOfRamayana handle, said Day 1 worldwide gross was ₹155 crore. Sacnilk put the same Day 1 worldwide gross at ₹127.50 crore. That is a gap of ₹27.50 crore.
The makers also said the film had made ₹200+ crore worldwide from pre-sales alone, before release. Sacnilk’s 2-day worldwide total was ₹221.05 crore. The makers’ Day 2 claim was not reported separately.
Why do the numbers differ? Makers count gross from all sources, and they often count blocked seats and bulk bookings too. Trade trackers count only the ticket money they can check. Readers should know both numbers exist. This post uses Sacnilk as the main source, as always on this site.
Net vs gross: a 30-second explainer
Many readers mix up net and gross. Here is the plain version.
Gross is the full price of every ticket sold. Net is the gross minus the tax on tickets. In India, the net is almost always lower than the gross. For Ramayana, 3-day India gross is ₹218.25 crore and India net is ₹182.70 crore. The gap of ₹35.55 crore is mostly tax.
Worldwide gross is India gross plus overseas gross. That is how ₹218.25 crore plus ₹157.25 crore gives ₹375.50 crore worldwide. When a film’s makers quote a big number, check if it is net or gross first. Gross always looks bigger.
Day-wise table: Ramayana’s first 3 days
| Day | Date | India net | Change vs last day | Shows |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Thu 5 Nov | ₹64.85 cr | — (opening day) | 25,200 |
| Day 2 | Fri 6 Nov | ₹48.05 cr | −25.9% | — |
| Day 3 | Sat 7 Nov | ₹69.80 cr | +45.3% | 23,696 |
| Total (3 days) | ₹182.70 cr |
Day 2 fell because Friday is a work day and the opening-day rush was over. Day 3 jumped because it was a Saturday. Sunday is Diwali day, so Day 4 should be strong too.
A ₹4,000 crore bet, and a piracy fight
Ramayana is one of the most costly Indian films ever made. The two parts together cost about ₹4,000 crore, as per reports. Part 2 is due on Diwali 2028. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama. Yash plays Ravana. Sai Pallavi plays Sita.
Piracy is also in the news. The Bombay High Court has ordered pirated clips of the film to be taken down within 3 hours. Amul, the dairy brand, put out a topical ad to celebrate the film on 7 November.
What to watch next
Two numbers matter now. First, the Day 4 total. If Sunday stays strong, the India net will cross ₹200 crore today. Second, the Monday number. Monday shows if the film has legs or if it was only a Diwali weekend rush.
