Quick Read

  • Day 36 (Friday 6 Nov) made ₹5 lakh net in India, flat vs Day 35, on just 66 shows.
  • Worldwide gross after 36 days is ₹587.42 crore; India net is ₹379.30 crore.
  • At ₹5–9 lakh a day, the film needs 140–250 more days for ₹600 crore. It will not get there.

Drishyam 3 is in its last days in theatres. The Ajay Devgn film made ₹5 lakh net in India on Friday 6 November, as per Sacnilk. That is Day 36. Day 35 had also made ₹5 lakh. So the film is flat at the same small number.

Only 66 shows ran on Friday. Halls were 20% full. The big Diwali release, Ramayana, has taken most of the screens now. Drishyam 3 has almost no shows left to earn from.

The film’s verdict on Sacnilk is Blockbuster. That verdict is already set. The only open question was the ₹600 crore mark. That question now has an answer.

The ₹600 crore maths, done plainly

Worldwide gross after 36 days is ₹587.42 crore. That is India gross of ₹454.22 crore plus overseas of ₹133.20 crore. India net is ₹379.30 crore.

The gap to ₹600 crore is ₹12.58 crore. Now look at the daily speed. The film makes about ₹5 lakh a day now. Some days it makes ₹9 lakh. Take the faster speed: ₹12.58 crore divided by ₹9 lakh a day is about 140 days. Take the current speed: ₹12.58 crore divided by ₹5 lakh a day is about 252 days.

No film stays in theatres for 140 more days at 66 shows. Halls will drop it in days, not months. So the ₹600 crore mark is effectively out of reach in theatres. Say it plainly: it will not happen.

Last 6 days: the slow fade

DayDateIndia net
Day 31Sun 1 Nov₹1.75 cr
Day 32Mon 2 Nov₹0.55 cr
Day 33Tue 3 Nov₹0.75 cr
Day 34Wed 4 Nov₹0.55 cr
Day 35Thu 5 Nov₹0.05 cr
Day 36Fri 6 Nov₹0.05 cr

The drop is clear. Day 31 was a Sunday and made ₹1.75 crore. Then Ramayana released on 5 November and took the screens. Day 35 fell to ₹5 lakh. Day 36 stayed there. The film lost its shows, and the money went with them.

Day 37: an early number from another tracker

Sacnilk has not yet put out its Day 37 figure. The page was last updated on Friday 6 November. But boxofficeindia24.com, a second tracker, reports an early Day 37 number of ₹9 lakh net. That would take India net to ₹379.46 crore.

This is an early number from another tracker, not a Sacnilk final. Treat it as a hint, not a fact. If Sacnilk confirms a similar number tomorrow, the ₹600 crore gap will shrink a little. It will still be over ₹12 crore short.

Koimoi, a third tracker, reports a higher worldwide total of ₹592.98 crore. It uses different overseas numbers. Do not mix it with Sacnilk’s ₹587.42 crore. This post uses Sacnilk throughout, as always on this site.

Still a Blockbuster, even without ₹600 crore

Missing ₹600 crore does not change what this film did. India net of ₹379.30 crore makes it Ajay Devgn’s biggest film ever. Worldwide gross of ₹587.42 crore is huge for a thriller with no big action scenes.

The film ran for 5 weeks. It held its own against Jailer 2 and then Ramayana. Most films fade in week 2. This one was still making ₹1.75 crore on Day 31. That is why the trade calls it a Blockbuster.

What to watch next

Watch for the OTT date. Once the film leaves theatres, the next news will be its streaming release. The ₹600 crore dream ends in theatres. But the film’s run is already one of the best of Ajay Devgn’s career.
