1. Gondhal — India’s Oscar entry
Gondhal is a Marathi psychological thriller. Santosh Davakhar directed it. It stars Ishita Deshmukh, Kishor Kadam and Yogesh Sohani. The story follows Suman, a young woman in an unhappy marriage in rural Maharashtra, and looks at desire, deception and devotion against the Gondhal folk tradition.
The film was picked as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards (Oscars 2027). It is the first Marathi film to get this honour in 11 years. It releases worldwide on 13 November in 7 languages: Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and English. The IFFI international jury called it “a Shakespearean fable set in a real world”.
This is a re-release. Gondhal first opened in India in November 2025. Now it returns worldwide in 7 languages — a rare second chance for a small film.

2. How to Rob a Bank — heists, livestreamed
How to Rob a Bank is a Hollywood crime film. David Leitch directs it. Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz and Anna Sawai lead the cast, with Christian Slater, Pete Davidson and John C. Reilly also in it.
The story is simple. A crew of robbers films its own heists and puts them on social media. The robberies become viral. Then the fame brings the police and new risks. The film releases wide on 13 November in the US. Some India listings put its India date at 19 November instead. Check your local cinema listings before you plan.
3. Ebenezer — Johnny Depp as Scrooge
Ebenezer is a dark, supernatural take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Ti West directs it. Johnny Depp plays Ebenezer Scrooge. Rupert Grint, Daisy Ridley and Ian McKellen are also in the cast.
Scrooge is a miserly businessman in Victorian London. He goes on a supernatural trip through his past, present and future, and gets a chance to change his life. The film releases wide on 13 November in the US. Some India listings say 20 November. Again, check local listings.
4. Paper Tiger — limited release
Paper Tiger is a crime drama from Neon. James Gray directs it. Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller star. Two brothers in 1980s Queens get caught in a Russian mob scheme.
This one opens in limited screens on 13 November and goes wide on 20 November. So it may not play in your city on day one. It is the week’s pick for viewers who like slow, tense crime films.
5. Laagi Chhoote Na — a UP love story
Laagi Chhoote Na is a Hindi heartland romance. Anand Kumar Tiwari wrote and directed it. Ashutosh Kumar, Deepra Mishra and Shalu Singh lead the cast. The story is set in Sonbhadra, a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Raja Mishra is a student leader at a college there. The film is about love, family hopes and the hard choices in between. Music is a big part of it. Richa Sharma, Shahid Mallya and Priyanka Singh sing, and Ajay Tiwari composed the music. It releases in theatres on 13 November.

What this post does not list
I Play Rocky opens in limited US screens on 6 November and goes wide on 20 November, so it is not a 13 November release. Little Thomas already released in theatres on 23 October 2026. Section 84 has two dates in different listings (14 vs 19 November), so it is not listed until the date is settled.
