Ramayana Part 1 has opened big. The film earned ₹64.85 crore net in India on Day 1, trade tracker Sacnilk reported. The gross was ₹77.50 crore.
That is a huge start. But it is not the ₹100 crore opening many had predicted. The film fell short of that mark on its first day.

Quick Read
- Day 1 India net: ₹64.85 crore; India gross: ₹77.50 crore, across 25,200 shows.
- Hindi shows led with ₹47.50 crore. Kannada came next at ₹7.25 crore.
- It did NOT beat Adipurush’s Day 1 record of ₹86.75 crore.
The Day 1 numbers
The film opened on Thursday, 5 November, just ahead of the Diwali week. Sacnilk’s final Day 1 figures are: ₹64.85 crore net in India, ₹77.50 crore gross, from 25,200 shows. About 25,25,775 tickets were sold on Day 1.
That works out to about ₹257 per ticket on average. The film played in five languages. Hindi did most of the work.

Language-wise split
Here is what each language made on Day 1, with its share of the total:
| Language | Day 1 net | Shows | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hindi | ₹47.50 cr | 20,678 | 73.2% |
| Kannada | ₹7.25 cr | 1,197 | 11.2% |
| Telugu | ₹6.00 cr | 1,776 | 9.3% |
| Tamil | ₹2.60 cr | 992 | 4.0% |
| Malayalam | ₹1.50 cr | 557 | 2.3% |
Two things stand out. Hindi brought in nearly three quarters of the money. And Kannada beat Telugu, even though Telugu had more shows. That is Yash’s pull. He plays Ravana, and his home fans in Karnataka turned up in big numbers.
Overall occupancy was 33.69%, Business Today reported. Night shows were the strongest, at 48.69% occupancy. Morning shows were slower, as usual for a working day.
What it did not do
The film did not beat Adipurush. The 2023 Prabhas film made ₹86.75 crore net on its first day (₹103.08 crore gross). Ramayana is ₹21.90 crore behind that mark. Adipurush went on to flop, so the record it holds is only about the opening day.
Ramayana also missed the ₹100 crore India net that trade watchers had talked about before release. News18 noted that the film “falls short of projected Rs 100 crore India net”. The advance booking was strong — ₹49.75 crore gross for Day 1 alone — but walk-in crowds did not push it past ₹100 crore.

The film
Ramayana Part 1 is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram. Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash plays Ravana. It is a two-part film, made by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The reported budget is ₹4,000 crore, which would make it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The makers have not confirmed that figure.
Overseas and worldwide Day 1 figures were not out yet when this report was written. In North America alone, the film earned about $940,000 on Day 1, News18 reported.
