Quick Read
- Day 21 (4 November): Rs 3 crore India net, down 10.4% from Day 20’s Rs 3.35 crore.
- Total so far: Rs 466.05 crore India net, Rs 545.10 crore India gross, Rs 276 crore overseas.
- Worldwide gross: Rs 821.10 crore — the first Tamil film past Rs 800 crore.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is still earning in its third week. On Wednesday, 4 November, the film made Rs 3 crore net in India. That is Day 21 of its run. The drop from Tuesday is small. Day 20 brought Rs 3.35 crore. Day 21 is 10.4% lower. For a film in its fourth week, that is a steady hold. Most films fall much faster by this stage. The film ran on 8,004 shows across India on Day 21. Average occupancy was 12%. Tamil Nadu stayed the biggest state. It gave Rs 1.45 crore of the day’s gross.
Where the Day 21 money came from
The Tamil version led the day with Rs 1.80 crore from 3,584 shows. The Hindi version added Rs 65 lakh from 3,428 shows. Telugu gave Rs 40 lakh from 780 shows. Kannada added Rs 15 lakh from 212 shows. Put together, that is Rs 3 crore net. The split shows something clear. Tamil Nadu is still the film’s home base. But the Hindi belt is still buying tickets too, even three weeks in.
The big totals after 21 days
India net now stands at Rs 466.05 crore. India gross is Rs 545.10 crore. Overseas markets have added Rs 276 crore, including Rs 75 lakh on Day 21 alone. Add them up and the worldwide gross is Rs 821.10 crore. That number matters. Jailer 2 is now the first Tamil film to cross Rs 800 crore worldwide. It has also moved past Vijay’s GOAT and past 2.0, which finished at Rs 691 crore worldwide. By language, Tamil net is Rs 322.43 crore. Telugu net is Rs 85.43 crore. Hindi net is Rs 50.10 crore. Kannada net is Rs 8.09 crore. The Tamil version alone is bigger than most full films’ lifetime totals. Week 3 itself has given Rs 42.40 crore net so far. That is a strong third week. The film opened huge, and it has not collapsed since.

What comes next: Ramayana
Today, 5 November, changes everything for Jailer 2. Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part 1 releases today. It is the biggest release of the year. Theatres will give it the best screens and the best show timings. Trade watchers expect single-screen theatres to move to Ramayana first. Multiplexes may keep some Jailer 2 shows, but only where demand stays strong. That means Jailer 2’s daily numbers will likely fall from here. The next big mark is Rs 500 crore India net. Jailer 2 needs Rs 33.95 crore more to reach it. At Day 21’s pace of Rs 3 crore a day, that would take about 11 more days. But the pace will not stay at Rs 3 crore with Ramayana in theatres. So the Rs 500 crore mark is now a real fight, not a sure thing. For now, though, the record books already have a new entry. No Tamil film had crossed Rs 800 crore worldwide before. Jailer 2 did it in 21 days.
Why Jailer 2 held so long
Three things kept Jailer 2 going. First, Rajinikanth. His films open big in Tamil Nadu, and fans come back for repeat shows. Second, the sequel factor. The first Jailer was a hit in 2023, so part 2 came with trust already built in. Third, the calm window. For three weeks, no major release pushed it off screens. That window is now over. Ramayana is the first true rival. The language spread helped too. Telugu net is Rs 85.43 crore and Hindi net is Rs 50.10 crore. The film travelled well beyond Tamil Nadu. Overseas added Rs 276 crore — nearly a third of the worldwide gross. Tamil films with strong overseas pull often last longer. Jailer 2 is one of those films. That is why the total looks so big. It was not one market doing all the work. It was Tamil Nadu, the Telugu states, the Hindi belt, and overseas audiences together. When Ramayana takes screens, all four legs will feel it at once.
