Quick Read
- Release: November 5 worldwide; paid previews November 4 in India (9 PM per India TV; some reports say from 4 PM — check your cinema’s listing).
- Cast: Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Director: Nitesh Tiwari. Producer: Namit Malhotra.
- Advance bookings: over Rs 20 crore worldwide gross, about 2.25 lakh tickets, per India Today via ET (9 days before release). OTT later on JioHotstar, pay-per-view only, date and price not announced.
The film was earlier talked about for a November 8 Diwali release in India. Reports in October said the India date moved to November 5 to match the global rollout. Pinkvilla, quoted by TOI and Sacnilk, is the source for the November 4 preview plan. North America also gets previews on November 4 and a full release on November 5. The UK, South Africa and Mauritius are listed for November 6. China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong dates are still undisclosed in those reports.
Ticket prices have already drawn attention. ET notes some IMAX recliner seats in Mumbai listed at over Rs 3,000. Those are premium-format prices, not standard rates. Standard prices vary by city, cinema and format, and they change as the release nears. Check the booking app for your show, not a headline price.
What to know before you book
Runtime: reports put the final Hindi cut at about 3 hours 25 minutes, including songs and interval, though that could change slightly after censor certification. Plan travel and food around a long film, especially for a 9 PM preview.
Part 2 is slated for Diwali 2027, per TOI. This film is Part 1 only, so expect an incomplete story arc, not a full Ramayana in one sitting. That matters for families with young children who may expect a complete tale.
OTT: after theatres, Ramayana Part 1 will stream on JioHotstar, but not as part of a normal subscription. ET reports a pay-per-view model, where viewers pay separately. No date or price is announced yet. Do not trust social-media posts claiming a free OTT date.
