Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested four people, including two women, for allegedly supplying the pistol used in the Tiger Shroff firing case. The four were caught on October 20 and a court has handed them to Mumbai Police for three days of questioning.
Meanwhile, police sources say Bollywood star Salman Khan — not Tiger Shroff — was the shooters’ original target.

Quick Read
- Police say Kunal (21) and Sumit (19) from Sonipat collected a pistol and 20 rounds from Amritsar on gangster Anil Pandit’s orders.
- Radha (23) and Babita (23), both from Uttar Pradesh, allegedly carried the gun to Mumbai by train on October 15 with it hidden in a bag.
- Mumbai Police sources claim the shooters first recced Salman Khan’s home but switched to Tiger Shroff as an “easy target” after spotting heavy security — police have not confirmed this publicly.
The four accused were produced in court under Section 35(1)(b) of the BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita) before Maharashtra Police’s CID moved them into its custody. A court has granted Mumbai Police a three-day transit remand, PTI reported.
A quick note: when one state’s police arrest people another state wants, “transit remand” is the court’s permission to take them across state lines. That’s why the four go to Mumbai.
How the gun allegedly reached Mumbai
Police say the chain started with Kunal, a 21-year-old from Sonipat in Haryana. Kunal had recently been released from jail on bail when a friend from Harsana village introduced him to Anil Pandit, a 32-year-old gangster from Panipat who police claim operates from the United States and is allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The two began talking on an encrypted messaging app.
On Pandit’s instructions, police allege, Kunal and Sumit (19) travelled to Amritsar and collected a pistol with 20 rounds of ammunition.
About two months ago, Kunal met Radha and grew close to her, according to police. He then told her about his activities and persuaded her to carry the weapon to Mumbai. On October 15, police say Kunal dropped Radha and Babita at New Delhi Railway Station. The pistol was hidden in Radha’s bag, and Kunal relayed Pandit’s instructions to the women on the encrypted app through the journey, police told PTI. The women reached Mumbai, handed over the weapon — reports say via a minor at Dadar — and returned to Delhi, where they were picked up from New Delhi Railway Station on October 20.

Was Salman Khan the original target? What sources say — and what they don’t
This is the part police have NOT said on record. Hindustan Times and NDTV, citing Mumbai Police sources, report that the three shooters first aimed at Salman Khan. The sources claim the shooters did a recce of Khan’s home at Bandstand in Bandra West, but the tight security there made the attack unworkable.
According to the sources, the gang then looked for an “easy target” — Tiger Shroff. Fan reels showed Shroff played football every Sunday at Pushpa Narsee Ground in Juhu with no police security around him. The sources claim the shooters watched the actor, then opened fire as his car came out of the ground’s gate on Sunday evening.
HT quotes one police officer: “We have learnt that the accused had carried out reconnaissance at Salman Khan’s home, but the purpose is not yet clear. We will check their phones as they take photos to send their handlers.” NDTV reports that Khan’s security has since been upgraded with elite commandos.
This remains an alleged claim, not a confirmed fact — police have not confirmed it publicly. The alleged motive, per the sources, was to spread terror within Bollywood.
The one detail newsrooms disagree on — and how many are in custody now
Radha and Babita are both 23 and both from Uttar Pradesh. But which district? The Hindu reports Radha is from Sitapur and Babita from Azamgarh. PTI, via the Daily Pioneer, reports it the other way — Radha from Azamgarh, Babita from Sitapur. We’re naming the disagreement because the record is genuinely split right now.

With these four, eight people are now in custody in this case. The three shooters were caught within 24 hours. A man named Sameer, also from Sonipat, was arrested for allegedly connecting Anil Pandit — reported to be sitting in California — with the shooters, according to the Daily Jagran.
What happens next
The four will be in Mumbai CID’s custody for three days. Police will check their phones — sources say the accused photographed places and sent images to their handlers. Officers also want to establish whether the shooters fired to kill Tiger Shroff or only to frighten him, and whether more people helped move the weapon.
Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt; his driver was wounded. On Tuesday, Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar met the actor, according to the Indian Express.
