- The three alleged shooters, in police custody till October 31, told the crime branch they spent around 20 days in Mumbai’s suburbs surveying the homes of big stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan.

Three more held in Sonipat
Mumbai Police said the three newly arrested men — Sameer, Jatin and Ankit Khatak — helped plan the October 18 attack and arranged weapons and logistics for the shooters. All three are from Sonipat district in Haryana, the Hindustan Times reported on October 22.
The men were produced before a local court in Sonipat for transit remand — a court order that lets police move an accused from one state to another. Mumbai Police will then bring them to Mumbai for questioning.
With these arrests, 10 people are now in custody. Earlier this week, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four accused — Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Sonipat, plus Radha, 23, from Sitapur and Babita, 23, from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. They were brought to Mumbai’s Anti-Extortion Cell, with the two women kept at Azad Maidan police station, the Economic Times reported.

20-day recce of star homes
The most startling detail came from the shooters themselves. They told the Mumbai crime branch that their nearly 20-day stay in Mumbai involved touring the suburbs, especially Juhu, to see where Bollywood celebrities live, the Times of India reported on October 22.
They checked out the homes of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan in the western suburbs. The sources also say Salman Khan was considered first. But the heavy police deployment outside his house spoiled that plan, NDTV reported.
Then they changed tack. Posing as ordinary tourists, the shooters travelled by auto-rickshaw and bike. An auto-rickshaw driver tipped them off about Tiger Shroff’s Sunday football routine at the Pushpa Narsee Ground in Juhu, the Statesman reported. They also tracked his fan pages and reels on social media and learned he had no police protection at the time.
The shooters visited the Juhu ground on October 11. Tiger didn’t show up. Police sources told NDTV this was likely a dry run, since the shooters got the weapons only around October 17. A week later, they returned with guns.

What happened on October 18
On Sunday evening, at least two men on a motorcycle fired at Tiger Shroff’s car as he left the football ground in Juhu. The actor escaped unhurt. His driver was injured; PTI also reported a bystander hurt.
Five to six rounds were fired, police told News18. The shooters dropped both guns — one foreign-made pistol and one country-made — while fleeing Mumbai, and ditched the bike in Andheri. They fled by train through Surat and were caught in Kota, Rajasthan, before they could cross into Nepal.
Court sends shooters to custody till October 31
The three alleged shooters — Rehan alias Sukka from Sonipat, Ritik Kurmi alias Roshan originally from Begusarai in Bihar, and Phool Singh from Haryana — were produced before a Mumbai magistrate court on Wednesday. Police asked for 14 days of custody. The court gave them 10 days, till October 31, Rediff and PTI reported.
Police told the court they need the custody to recover the weapons, which the accused threw away, and to dig into the conspiracy and motive. The accused destroyed two mobile phones. Investigators also want to collect electronic evidence, including call data records. Defence lawyers argued the remand wasn’t needed for weapon recovery and that the accused had already been questioned during transit remand.
One small note: “police custody” means the accused stay with the police for questioning. It’s different from “judicial custody”, where they go to jail while the trial runs. The court granted police custody for 10 days only.
Tiger’s team warns against fake stories
Tiger Shroff’s team issued a statement on October 20 warning against fake stories, unauthorised statements and AI-generated videos falsely attributed to him, threatening legal action. Many videos circulating on social media about this case are not real — worth keeping in mind.

What’s still unknown
Two big questions remain open. First, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility on social media minutes after the firing. That’s the gang’s claim, not a proven fact yet. Second, the shooters’ claim that they surveyed star homes for 20 days is still being verified — police are checking their movements and links with gang handlers, TOI reported. Mumbai Police are also examining a threat audio clip, comparing the voice with recordings held by Punjab and Delhi Police.
