Modi in Gujarat: Rs 19,000 cr PM-KISAN payout today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Gujarat today, 30 October, for a two-day visit. It’s a packed trip: farm money, new projects, new trains, and a big tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The headline item for most families is the farm payout. Modi will release the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN from Banaskantha. About 9.34 crore farmer families across India are set to get Rs 2,000 each, paid straight into their bank accounts. The total payout is about Rs 19,000 crore — news reports differ slightly here (see the note at the end of this post), with some putting the exact figure at Rs 18,680 crore.

PM-KISAN gives eligible land-owning farmer families Rs 6,000 a year, in three parts of Rs 2,000. This is the third part of the current cycle. The last instalment, the 23rd, went out on 20 June 2026 to more than 9.44 crore families.

What happens on day one in Banaskantha

Modi starts Friday morning at Banaskantha, in north Gujarat. He’ll visit the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre at Bhildi and its embryo-transfer and IVF lab. The centre sits on 127 acres. Its job is simple to grasp: better cattle breeds, more milk per animal, and higher incomes for dairy farmers.

Modi has pitched it as a showcase of science helping farmers. He named the Kankrej, a well-known local cattle breed, as one the centre will help protect and improve. The centre will also be dedicated to the nation as part of projects worth over Rs 14,000 crore in the district.

There’s a wrinkle in the project figure worth knowing. Some reports put the total at over Rs 14,400 crore, while others say Rs 14,000 crore. The gap looks like rounding and different ways of grouping the projects. We’ve used “over Rs 14,000 crore” here, and flagged the higher figure in our notes.

Two new trains and the Ahmedabad Metro

During the visit, Modi will flag off two train services: the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)–Varanasi Express and the Mehsana–Becharaji–Sabarmati MEMU. He’ll also lay the foundation stone for Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2A and 2B, which extends the city’s metro network.

He’ll also dedicate 521 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, according to reports. These are farm-linked works — storage, processing and market links — though the full project list wasn’t public in the reports we checked this morning.

For Gujarat’s farmers, there’s a local number too: over 52.33 lakh farmer families in Gujarat are set to receive more than Rs 1,051 crore in this PM-KISAN round, per state minister Jitu Vaghani via PTI.

Day two: Patel’s 151st birthday at Ekta Nagar

On Saturday, 31 October, Modi travels to Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), home of the Statue of Unity. He’ll offer floral tributes to Sardar Patel on his 151st birth anniversary. It’s Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the National Unity Day, and the main event of the visit’s second day.

He’ll also open Bharat Parv 2026 at Ekta Nagar on Friday evening, around 5 pm, and take part in the Narmada aarti. Bharat Parv is a cultural festival where states and Union Territories show their traditions, folk acts, food, crafts and tourist spots.

On 31 October he’ll also open and lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 400 crore in Ekta Nagar itself.

For the full schedule, see our Ekta Diwas Oct 31 guide at Ekta Nagar.

Didn’t get the money? Check these three things

Here’s the added context most reports skip: being registered for PM-KISAN does not mean the money lands on its own. Three checks decide it. First, e-KYC must be complete — you can do it on pmkisan.gov.in with an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile, or by biometric check at a Common Service Centre. Second, your bank account details must match. Third, your land records must be in order.

If the money doesn’t show up, check “Know Your Status” on pmkisan.gov.in before trusting any forwarded message. Status updates can take up to 24 hours to show. And no, the 10 am event time is not a promise that every account will show the money at 10 am — bank processing takes its own time.

One more number for context: the Union Cabinet approved PM-KISAN’s continuation from 2026–27 to 2030–31 in July, with a total outlay of Rs 3.15 lakh crore. Till June 2026, over Rs 4.47 lakh crore had already reached farmers through 23 instalments.

Hindi readers can follow the Hindi guide on checking the PM-KISAN 24th instalment status.

Note on figures: Reports differ on the payout total — “around Rs 19,000 crore” (PMO/PTI briefings) versus Rs 18,680 crore (Indian Express, Free Press Journal). The maths points to Rs 18,680 crore: 9.34 crore × Rs 2,000 = Rs 18,680 crore. We’ve kept the rounded Rs 19,000 crore figure in the headline and shown both here so readers aren’t misled.
