Gold prices did not move on Diwali morning. In Delhi, 24-karat gold stayed at ₹14,360 per gram, or ₹1,43,600 for 10 grams, per Goodreturns. That is exactly where it was yesterday. No rise, no fall.

Quick Read
- Delhi 24K gold is ₹14,360 per gram (₹1,43,600/10g) today — flat against yesterday, per Goodreturns.

Today’s gold rates — the full table
These are Goodreturns rates for 8 November 2026. They are indicative rates from jewellers. They do not include 3% GST or making charges. Your final bill at a shop will be higher.
| City | 24K (per gram) | 22K (per gram) | 18K (per gram) | 24K (per 10g) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | ₹14,360 | ₹13,175 | ₹10,783 | ₹1,43,600 |
| Mumbai | ₹14,357 | ₹13,160 | ₹10,768 | ₹1,43,570 |
| Chennai | ₹14,357 | ₹13,160 | ₹10,768 | ₹1,43,570 |
| Kolkata | ₹14,357 | ₹13,160 | ₹10,768 | ₹1,43,570 |
| All-India | ₹14,357 | ₹13,160 | ₹10,768 | ₹1,43,570 |
Delhi is the only city that pays more — ₹3 extra per gram for 24K. On 10 grams, that is ₹30. Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata all show the same rates today.
ET Now’s numbers are close but not identical. It lists Delhi 24K at ₹1,43,600 per 10g, 22K at ₹1,31,640, and 18K at ₹1,07,700. Its Mumbai figure is ₹1,43,450. The gap between the two feeds is about ₹110 per 10 grams. We use Goodreturns as the single table in this post. Do not mix the two feeds.
Flat after a wild week
Flat sounds boring. It is not. Look at the last ten days, per Goodreturns’ per-gram 24K table:
- 3 November: ₹13,964
- 4 November: ₹14,280
- 5 November: ₹14,602
- 6 November: ₹14,346 (down ₹256 in a day)
- 8 November: ₹14,357 — flat against 7 November
Gold jumped ₹638 per gram in two days, from 3 to 5 November. Then it fell ₹256 on 6 November. Today it has stopped moving. That pause matters if you plan to buy today. Yesterday’s price is today’s price. There is no rush, and no discount for waiting either.
One more number for scale. At today’s Delhi rate, ₹1 lakh buys about 6.96 grams of 24K gold. That is our own calculation (₹1,00,000 ÷ ₹14,360). A 10-gram biscuit costs ₹1,43,600 before tax. Add 3% GST and making charges, and the shop bill crosses ₹1,50,000.

What the futures market says
The MCX, India’s commodity exchange, tells a different story from the shop rates. December gold futures fell ₹1,731 on Friday — down 1.2% — to ₹1,42,364 per 10 grams. The previous session had settled at ₹1,44,095. That is a sharp one-day fall.
Why does that matter? Futures often move first. Shop rates follow a day or two later. But bullion markets are shut on Saturday and Sunday. So Friday’s futures fall has not yet shown up in today’s shop rates. If you buy on Monday, check the rate again. It may be lower.
International spot gold held above USD 4,000 an ounce — about USD 4,071.67, up 0.54%, per ET Now. The global price is steady. The Indian fall is mostly a futures-market move, not a global crash.
The Delhi bullion market tells yet another story. The All India Sarafa Association quoted 24K gold at ₹1,46,300 per 10 grams, including all taxes. That is about ₹2,700 above the Goodreturns rate. The gap is tax and trade margin. Always ask a jeweller what is included in the quote.
Silver today
Silver in Delhi is ₹1,90,900 per kg, including taxes, per the bullion market quoted by ET Now. The bullion quotation without taxes is ₹1,85,630 per kg. MCX silver futures sit at ₹1,84,977 per kg, a small rise. Spot silver is USD 51.97 an ounce.
One warning. Goodreturns’ silver page shows ₹205 per gram — that is ₹2,05,000 per kg. That is far above the bullion and MCX figures of about ₹1,85,000–1,90,900. We are not using the Goodreturns silver figure. It looks wrong. Use ₹1,90,900 per kg for Delhi.
Dhanteras: Indians spent big
Dhanteras, two days ago, was huge for gold sellers. Indians spent about ₹60,000 crore on gold on Dhanteras, per Jagran Josh. That figure is reported, not confirmed by an official body. But it fits what jewellers have said all week: festive demand stayed strong even at these high prices.
That is the context for today’s flat rate. Demand was heavy, yet the price did not rise. Supply kept up. For buyers, that is good news. Diwali is the biggest gold-buying day of the year, and the price has held still.

Buying today? Keep these three things in mind
First, the rate you see online is not the bill you pay. Add 3% GST on the metal value, plus 5% GST on making charges, plus the making charge itself. Ask for the full break-up before you pay.
Second, check the purity stamp. 24K means 99.9% pure gold. 22K, the usual choice for jewellery, is 91.6% pure. 18K is 75% pure. Hallmarking (BIS mark) is your proof. Do not buy unstamped gold.
Third, keep the bill safe. You need it to sell the gold back, to exchange it, and for tax records. Gold bought without a bill is hard to sell at a fair price later.
