Quick Read:
- Ranabaali earned Rs 1.03 crore net in India on Day 13 (Wednesday, 28 October), down 6.4% from Day 12’s Rs 1.10 crore.
- India net total is now Rs 56.38 crore. India gross is Rs 65.45 crore. Worldwide gross is Rs 77.60 crore, as per NDTV Profit’s Sacnilk report.
- The film has only a few days left before Ramayana releases on 5 November and takes screens.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali slipped again on Wednesday. Trade tracker Sacnilk, as reported by NDTV Profit and Times of India, puts Day 13 India net at Rs 1.03 crore across 1,488 shows. That is a 6.4% fall from Day 12, when the film earned Rs 1.10 crore.
Two tracker notes matter here, so readers are not misled. First, BoxOfficeIndia24 estimated Day 13 at Rs 0.86 crore. That is lower than Sacnilk’s Rs 1.03 crore. This post uses the Sacnilk figure. Second, one report gave the worldwide total as Rs 76.45 crore. That number matches the film’s Day 12 worldwide total. It looks like an old total carried forward. India gross of Rs 65.45 crore plus overseas gross of Rs 12.15 crore adds up to Rs 77.60 crore. That is the worldwide figure used here.
The day-wise slide
Ranabaali opened on 16 October 2026. Day 1 earned Rs 9.25 crore. Day 2 earned Rs 7.30 crore. Day 3 earned Rs 7.50 crore. The first weekend total was Rs 24.05 crore. Week 1 closed at Rs 45.20 crore net in India.
Week 2 was much weaker. Day 8 earned Rs 2.10 crore. Day 9 earned Rs 2.80 crore. Day 10, the second Sunday, earned Rs 2.90 crore. Then the second weekdays fell hard. Day 11 earned Rs 1.25 crore. Day 12 earned Rs 1.10 crore. Day 13 earned Rs 1.03 crore.
The second weekend total was Rs 7.80 crore. That is 67.57% lower than the first weekend’s Rs 24.05 crore. In plain words, the film lost about two-thirds of its weekend crowd in one week. That is the clearest sign that the opening rush is over.
Occupancy reports differed on Day 13, so this post does not pick one number as settled. NDTV Profit reported overall occupancy at 19%, with Warangal highest at 42.8%, followed by Chennai at 29.7% and Hyderabad at 17.3%. Times of India reported overall occupancy at 16.43%. Both reports agree on the main point: shows were far from full, with some Telugu markets doing better than others.
What the film is, and why it slowed
Ranabaali is a period action drama. It is directed by Rahul Sankrityan. It is set during the Madras Famine of 1876–1878 in the Rayalaseema region. Vijay Deverakonda plays a horseman who leads local resistance against British rule. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead. Arnold Vosloo is also in the cast. The film runs for about 2 hours and 58 minutes. It released in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil.
The film opened to mixed reviews. Mixed reviews hurt a period film more than a light comedy, because viewers need a strong reason to sit through a long, serious story. The film also opened in the same window as Jailer 2, which was taking a huge share of screens and viewers. A smaller film in that window has to fight for every show.
About 1,03,879 tickets were sold on Day 13, as per NDTV Profit’s Sacnilk report. Total footfalls so far are about 45.83 lakh. Footfalls means the number of tickets sold. That number helps readers see the gap between a big opening and a slow second week. The film sold many tickets in week one. It now sells far fewer per day.
The third weekend is the test
Ranabaali has one more weekend before Ramayana. That weekend will show whether the film can hold any screens at all. Times of India said the film “eyes Rs 100 crore in third weekend” in its headline, but the numbers in its own report do not support that as a near-term total. Worldwide gross is Rs 77.60 crore. The film would need Rs 22.40 crore more to reach Rs 100 crore. At about Rs 1 crore a day in India, plus small overseas money, that gap will not close in one weekend.
A fairer test is simpler. Can the third weekend beat the second weekend’s Rs 7.80 crore? That would need daily shows to rise on Saturday and Sunday, as they did in week two. If the third weekend falls below Rs 7.80 crore, the film is heading for a quick end to its theatre run.
Ramayana releases on 5 November. New big films take screens from older films first. Ranabaali, with about Rs 1 crore a day, is the kind of film that loses shows first. Theatre owners give screens to the film that sells more tickets. That is a business choice, not a judgment on the film’s quality.
