Quick Read:

• Day 13 (Tuesday, October 27): ₹7.50 crore net in India, down 20.6 per cent from Monday’s ₹9.45 crore.
• India net total: ₹415.65 crore. India gross: ₹486.50 crore. Overseas: ₹257.50 crore. Worldwide gross: ₹744 crore.
• The film is now closing in on ₹750 crore worldwide. The ₹800 crore mark is the next question, not a certainty.

Day 13 in detail

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 collected ₹7.50 crore net in India on its 13th day, Tuesday, October 27, according to Sacnilk estimates reported by The Times of India, The Economic Times and NDTV Profit. The film played across 10,664 shows. Language split: Tamil ₹4.15 crore from 4,620 shows, Telugu ₹1.65 crore from 1,773 shows, Hindi ₹1.45 crore from 4,060 shows, and Kannada ₹25 lakh from 211 shows. Overall occupancy was 18.3 per cent. The film sold an estimated 6,09,401 tickets on the day, taking total footfalls past 2.77 crore. The 20.6 per cent drop from Monday’s ₹9.45 crore is a normal weekday slide in week two, not a collapse. Opening-week days were far higher — the opening day alone was ₹59.70 crore — but second-week weekdays always fall. The question for Jailer 2 is no longer the opening, but the tail: how many more weekdays it can hold above ₹5 crore.

The totals, and one tracker disagreement

Sacnilk’s totals after Day 13: India net ₹415.65 crore, India gross ₹486.50 crore, overseas ₹257.50 crore (after ₹2 crore on Day 13), worldwide gross ₹744 crore. One honest flag: tracker BoxOfficeIndia24 gives a different Day 13 figure — ₹7.57 crore net, with an India total of ₹406.27 crore net — and its overseas count was still being updated. The two trackers use different methods and update at different times, so their totals differ by about ₹9 crore on India net. This post leads with Sacnilk, as the major newspapers do, and notes the other tracker rather than hiding it. Either way, the headline fact stands on both trackers: Jailer 2 is the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, and it is now within ₹6 crore of ₹750 crore worldwide on Sacnilk’s count.

Praise from Kamal Haasan and Dhanush

The film’s run also drew public praise from two big names. Kamal Haasan congratulated Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar, composer Anirudh Ravichander and the Sun Pictures team on X, calling the film a worldwide superhit. Nelson replied that praise from a legend like Kamal “means a lot”. Dhanush, after watching the first-day first-show screening, called the film a “MUST MUST MUST watch” and “a feast for every Thalaivar fan”, The Economic Times reported. Jailer 2 is the sequel to Nelson’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer. Rajinikanth plays retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Yogi Babu, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Hrithik Roshan, Vijay Sethupathi and S.J. Suryah.
