Quick Read
- Ramayana: Part One (titled Rise of a Legend) releases worldwide on November 5, right before Dhanteras and Diwali.
- Section 84 brings Amitabh Bachchan back on November 14.
- November 27 is a three-way clash: Gunmaaster G9, Yeh Prem Mol Liya and Mysaa.
October is closing out with its own rush — Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer (with Sara Ali Khan), Tum Mere Ho and Jackie Shroff’s Kaali Kheti all land on October 23, and Aanand L Rai’s Nakhrewaalii (with debutantes Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava) follows on October 30. But November is where the real fireworks are. Here are the films to know about, date by date.
Ramayana: Part One — November 5 (worldwide)
This is the big one. Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part retelling of the Ramayana, officially titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, releases worldwide on November 5, 2026, across all premium formats including IMAX and 3D.
The makers ended weeks of confusion about the date on October 11. An early announcement had pointed to November 6, but the team confirmed November 5 as the worldwide date, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra (October 20). Producer Namit Malhotra told NDTV the India release was targeted at Diwali, while international screens follow the Friday calendar.
The cast is the hook: Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Yash plays Ravana, Sai Pallavi is Sita, Sunny Deol is Hanuman and Ravie Dubey is Lakshman. The ensemble also includes Arun Govil as Dasharath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha. The film is made by Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, and the team has pointed to VFX artists linked to The Odyssey and Dune. Part two is expected in 2027.
Why watch: this is the biggest Diwali-week release of the year, and early fan reaction to the date announcement — “Peak is coming,” one fan wrote — shows the hype is real.

Section 84 — November 14
Amitabh Bachchan leads this one, with Nimrat Kaur, Abhishek Banerjee and Diana Penty in key roles. The film releases on November 14.
Details on the story have been kept tight, but any film with Bachchan headlining a strong supporting cast becomes a talking point on its own. It lands in the quiet week after the Ramayana storm — a smart slot for a film that wants breathing room.
Why watch: Bachchan in a lead role, with a cast that mixes experience (Nimrat Kaur) and fresh energy (Abhishek Banerjee). Watch for the trailer to know what “Section 84” actually means.
Gunmaaster G9 — November 27
Director Aditya Datt’s action-romance stars Emraan Hashmi, Genelia D’Souza and Aparshakti Khurana. It releases worldwide on November 27, 2026.
The title suggests guns and action, and the genre listing (action + romance) backs that up. Hashmi built his name on edgy thrillers, so an action-heavy outing with his name on the poster has a ready audience.
Why watch: Emraan Hashmi in full action mode, paired with Genelia D’Souza and the ever-reliable Aparshakti Khurana.
Yeh Prem Mol Liya — November 27
Sooraj R. Barjatya returns with a family romantic entertainer starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sharvari, with Anupam Kher and Seema Pahwa. Same date: November 27.
Barjatya’s name means one thing to Indian audiences — wholesome family dramas, the kind the whole household watches together. Pairing that style with Ayushmann Khurrana’s urban charm is an interesting mix of old and new Bollywood.
Why watch: Barjatya’s first big family film in a long while, and a completely different flavour from the action films around it. If you prefer laughs and emotions over gunfire, this is your pick.

Mysaa — November 27
Rashmika Mandanna stars as a Gond woman in this action thriller, also releasing November 27. That makes it a genuine three-way clash on the last weekend of the month.
The premise stands out: a story built around a Gond tribal woman, played by one of the biggest stars in the country. Tribal stories rarely get the big-star, big-action treatment in Hindi cinema, which is exactly why Mysaa is worth keeping an eye on.
Why watch: Rashmika Mandanna in a rare action role, in a story rooted in tribal India. The most unusual film of the month.
The Diwali-week factor
Here is the thing no one else will spell out for you: Ramayana’s November 5 release lands right before Dhanteras (November 6) and Diwali (November 8). The Dhanteras-Diwali stretch is the single biggest box-office window of the Indian year — families are together, spending is high, and a spectacle film is the default plan. That is why November 5 was worth fighting for.
And November 27’s three-film clash means three audiences — action fans, family audiences and Rashmika’s young fans — all get a film on the same weekend. Weekends like that are rare, and they usually reward the film with the strongest word of mouth.
Advance bookings for Ramayana opened on Dussehra. The Diwali weekend numbers will show which of these films actually pulled the crowds.
