Quick Read:

  • Ramayana: Part One has crossed $2.58 million in overseas advance bookings, up $391,700 in a day, as per Sacnilk.
  • India advance sales have reached Rs 15.56 crore gross, with 2.97 lakh tickets sold across 6,382 shows in 191 cities.
  • The film releases on 5 November 2026. It still trails Animal’s $13.19 million overseas opening record — but advance sales are not the opening total.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part One is building fast overseas. Trade tracker Sacnilk, as reported by NDTV Profit and Filmibeat, puts overseas advance bookings at $2.58 million. That is a rise of $391,700 from the day before. The film releases worldwide on 5 November 2026. Seven days are still left for advance sales to grow.

This is advance booking, not opening-day box office. Advance booking means tickets sold before release. Opening-day box office means all tickets sold for the first day, including tickets bought on the day itself. The $2.58 million figure will grow. How much it grows in the final week will decide how big the overseas opening looks.

Where the overseas money is coming from

North America leads by a wide gap. It has contributed $1.91 million of the $2.58 million total. The UK and Ireland have contributed $268,800. Australia and New Zealand have contributed $248,300. Germany has contributed $86,400. Other markets have contributed $62,800.

North America is about 74% of the overseas advance total so far. That pattern is common for big Indian films. The Indian diaspora in the United States and Canada buys early. Families plan a cinema trip in advance, especially for a film based on a story they know well. Trade experts quoted by Outlook India made the same point: diaspora families want to take their children to watch Indian culture on the big screen.

India advance sales tell a similar story of early demand. Sacnilk reports Rs 15.56 crore gross in India so far. Without blocked seats, the figure is Rs 12.77 crore. Blocked seats are seats held by theatres or partners, not yet sold to viewers. That is why the two India figures differ. About 2.97 lakh tickets have been sold across 6,382 shows in 191 cities.

Hindi leads India advance sales with Rs 13.06 crore, about 84% of the total. Kannada has collected Rs 2.04 crore. Telugu has collected Rs 46.38 lakh. By city, the National Capital Region leads with Rs 2.87 crore, followed by Bengaluru at Rs 2.45 crore and Mumbai at Rs 2.16 crore. Hyderabad has collected Rs 83.14 lakh. Pune stands at Rs 64.03 lakh.

The Animal comparison, kept honest

NDTV Profit asked whether Ramayana can beat Animal’s $13.19 million overseas opening record. That question needs care. Animal’s $13.19 million is an opening figure. Ramayana’s $2.58 million is an advance figure with seven days left. The gap right now is $10.61 million. That gap will shrink as more advance tickets sell, and as opening-day walk-in sales are added.

No one can say today whether Ramayana will beat that record. Trade estimates quoted by Indian Express on 26 October put a possible worldwide opening above Rs 200 crore, including paid previews. That is a trade estimate, not a confirmed result. Estimates change as bookings grow. They are useful as a sign of hope in trade circles, not as a promise to readers.

The film itself is large in scale. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram. Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The cast also includes Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. Part One releases on 5 November 2026. Part Two is planned for Diwali 2027. The film releases in Hindi, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil.

What Ramayana means for Jailer 2

Ramayana’s rise is good news for Ramayana, and a clear warning for older films. Jailer 2 is still earning in theatres. Its Day 15 advance booking was Rs 5.22 crore gross as of 6:00 am on 29 October, as per Sacnilk. That shows Jailer 2 still has buyers. But when Ramayana opens on 5 November, theatres will give Ramayana the best screens and the best show times. Older films lose shows first.

Outlook India reported that rival films are already rethinking release plans around Ramayana. One reported example is Godzilla Minus Zero, whose India date may shift from 6 November to 20 November. Financial Express reported that shift as possible, linked to Ramayana’s reported two-week IMAX exclusivity, with an official date still awaited. Readers should treat that shift as reported, not confirmed, until the makers announce it.

The next seven days will tell the real story. If overseas advance sales keep rising by about $300,000–$400,000 a day, the overseas advance total will cross $4 million before release. If India advance sales keep rising at the same pace, the India advance total will cross Rs 20 crore before release. Those are simple maths from the current pace, not forecasts. Pace can slow. It can also speed up in the last three days, when most viewers buy tickets.
