Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is just three days away from release, and its advance booking numbers are already looking strong. According to Sacnilk’s live advance booking tracker, the film has sold Rs 14.06 crore worth of tickets for Day 1 (Thursday, October 15) in India alone.
The numbers were updated at 5:20 PM IST on October 12. Booking is still open, so the final Day 1 advance total will be higher by the time the film releases.
Rs 14.06 crore and counting
For Day 1, Jailer 2 has sold 7.26 lakh tickets across 5,833 shows in 922 cinemas and 275 cities in India. The overall occupancy for advance booking stands at 37 percent.
Out of the 5,833 shows, 107 are already sold out and 484 are almost full. Night shows are filling the fastest, with 43 percent occupancy across 1,943 shows.
Since 6 AM on October 12, the film has added Rs 3.31 crore in advance sales. In the last six hours alone, bookings worth Rs 2.08 crore were added. This shows strong momentum as the release date comes closer.
Across all three days on sale (Day 1 to Day 3), Jailer 2 has collected Rs 21.66 crore in advance bookings in India. Day 1 alone makes up 65 percent of this total.
Tamil Nadu leads, Chennai on top
Tamil Nadu is leading the advance booking chart with Rs 7.71 crore, which is 55 percent of the total Day 1 gross. Kerala is second with Rs 3.36 crore, followed by Karnataka at Rs 1.86 crore.
Chennai is the top city with Rs 3.68 crore in advance sales and 72 percent occupancy across 831 shows. Bengaluru is second at Rs 1.78 crore, and Coimbatore is third at Rs 78.23 lakh.
The Tamil 2D version is carrying 91 percent of the total gross. The Telugu version has sold Rs 85.53 lakh so far, while the Hindi version is under Rs 7 lakh — less than 1 percent of the total.

Worldwide pre-sales near Rs 30 crore
Jailer 2 is doing well outside India too. Worldwide pre-sales for the opening day are nearing the Rs 30 crore gross mark. Overseas advance sales alone have topped Rs 20 crore, which is more than the India advance total.
Overseas advance booking has crossed the $1 million mark, according to trade reports. The film is also heading for one of the widest releases ever for a Tamil film in Singapore.
In Kerala, the film is targeting more than 4,000 shows. Trade watchers are now asking whether it can beat the Kerala box office records set by earlier big Tamil releases.

Hindi release faces a hurdle
According to trade reports, the Hindi version of Jailer 2 may miss release in PVR INOX and Cinepolis cinemas. The reason is said to be a disagreement over the four-week OTT window rule followed by national cinema chains.
This is only a report for now, and there is no official confirmation. But if it happens, the Hindi version’s box office numbers could take a hit, since these two chains run a large number of screens in North India.
