Quick Read
- Goodreturns, Nov 3: Delhi 24K Rs 13,953/g, 22K Rs 12,791/g, 18K Rs 10,469/g; Mumbai 24K Rs 13,938/g, 22K Rs 12,776/g, 18K Rs 10,454/g.
- MCX December gold futures rose 1.3% on Monday to settle at Rs 1,40,186 per 10 grams, back above Rs 1,40,000.
- Other tables differ: NDTV Profit/Bullion.co.in put Delhi 24K at Rs 1,40,170 per 10g. We do NOT mix tables; this post uses Goodreturns only, as stated.
Why do tables differ? Because they use different sources and times. Goodreturns lists jeweller-based indicative rates. Bullion/MCX-based tables track futures and spot quotes that move through the day. A live bullion site can show Rs 14,084 or more per gram at 9:19 AM. That does not make Goodreturns wrong; it is a different quote at a different time. Always check which source a price post uses before you compare two posts.
For 10 grams, multiply the per-gram Goodreturns rates by 10. Delhi 24K: Rs 1,39,530 per 10g. Mumbai 24K: Rs 1,39,380 per 10g. Delhi 22K: Rs 1,27,910 per 10g. Mumbai 22K: Rs 1,27,760 per 10g. GST, making charges and stone charges are extra. Your jeweller’s bill will be higher than these base rates.
What moved gold
Gold recovered on Monday after a sharp fall last week, per Asianet Newsable and NDTV Profit. MCX December futures climbed 1.3% to Rs 1,40,186 per 10g. That recovery in futures helped retail quotes hold near Rs 13,900 per gram for 24K, instead of sliding further.
Silver, per NDTV Profit quoting Bullion.co.in at about 5:55 AM Tuesday, was Rs 1,70,330 per kg for 925 sterling silver. Sunday Guardian, using Goodreturns, said silver declined even as gold edged up by Re 1. We flag that as a source difference, not a single settled silver price, because the two outlets use different bases.
Desk check: Goodreturns’ own page shows Rs 13,937/g for 24K in its India table, while its dated city listings show Rs 13,938/g for Mumbai and Rs 13,953/g for Delhi. The Re 1 gap is the Nov 2 to Nov 3 move in the city table. We use the dated Nov 3 city table, not the older India summary, and we state that choice here so readers can check it.
