Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 crossed Rs 500 crore in India gross on its 15th day. The film earned Rs 5.90 crore net in India on Thursday, 29 October, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. That takes its India net total to Rs 429.55 crore and its India gross to Rs 502.65 crore.
The overseas run added Rs 2 crore on Day 15. Overseas total now stands at Rs 262.50 crore. Add the two together and the worldwide gross reaches Rs 765.15 crore. The film is now about Rs 35 crore away from Rs 800 crore worldwide.
Only the second Tamil film past Rs 500 crore in India
Jailer 2 is now only the second Tamil film ever to cross Rs 500 crore in India gross. The first was Rajinikanth’s own 2.0, which grossed around Rs 519 crore in India. Jailer 2 has already passed 2.0’s worldwide lifetime total of around Rs 691 crore. It is the highest-grossing Tamil film worldwide, and it got there in just 15 days.
The film opened on 15 October 2026, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It stars Rajinikanth in the lead, with Hrithik Roshan alongside him. The first Jailer (2023) was a big hit too, but the sequel has gone well past it.
Tamil leads again, Hindi stays soft
Tamil brought in Rs 3.20 crore on Day 15 from 4,462 shows. That’s more than half of the day’s India net. Telugu added Rs 1.40 crore from 1,665 shows. Hindi earned Rs 1.10 crore from 3,972 shows, and Kannada added Rs 0.20 crore from 214 shows.
Look closer and the Hindi number tells its own story. Hindi ran on nearly as many shows as Tamil — 3,972 against 4,462 — but earned barely a third of Tamil’s money. Tamil fans are still turning up in far bigger numbers per show. Close to 4.80 lakh tickets were sold for the film on Day 15, taking total footfalls past 2.88 crore.
Day-wise collections so far
Week 1 brought in Rs 334.35 crore net in India. Then came Day 8 (Rs 17.15 crore), Day 9 (Rs 14.50 crore), Day 10 (Rs 24.15 crore) and Day 11 (Rs 25.70 crore). The second weekend was strong. Weekdays then dropped hard: Day 12 (Rs 9.45 crore), Day 13 (Rs 7.50 crore), Day 14 (Rs 6.55 crore) and now Day 15 (Rs 5.90 crore).
A note on these figures: Sacnilk revises early estimates as final show data comes in, so day-wise numbers from different days’ reports don’t always add up neatly to the final total. The totals in this post — Rs 429.55 crore net, Rs 502.65 crore gross, Rs 765.15 crore worldwide — are Sacnilk’s final Day 15 figures, as reported by TOI, Economic Times and Indian Express on 30 October. Sacnilk’s Day 15 page quotes an 18.1% drop from a revised Day 14 figure of Rs 7.20 crore; Day 14’s final reports had said Rs 6.55 crore, against which the drop is about 10%. An early partial-day estimate of Rs 4.25 crore (ETV Bharat, 29 October evening) is now superseded and is not used here.
What happens next
The third weekend is the next test. Advance booking for Saturday, 31 October stood at Rs 3.73 crore gross as of Friday morning, per Sacnilk. If the weekend holds, Rs 800 crore worldwide comes into view. But a big new release is close: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash’s Ramayana arrives on 5 November, and it will take screens away. Jailer 2 has this weekend to make its big push.
