Quick Read
- Day 68 (Tuesday, Oct 13): Rs 1.30 cr net India, +4% over Monday — Sacnilk final.
- Split: Hindi Rs 55 lakh (1,812 shows) | Telugu Rs 75 lakh (1,139 shows).

Two languages, one steady run
The Hindi version — the film that started it all on August 7 — brought in Rs 55 lakh from 1,812 shows on its 68th day. The Telugu version, which released on October 9 and is only on its 5th day in theatres, added Rs 75 lakh from 1,139 shows. Combined: 2,951 shows, 17.2% overall occupancy (16% Hindi, 19% Telugu), and 134,624 footfalls.
Overseas added Rs 10 lakh on Tuesday, taking the international gross to Rs 40.60 crore.
A quick honesty note, same as yesterday: our Day 67 post reported Monday’s collection as Rs 1.11 crore, which was Sacnilk’s early estimate. The updated Day 68 chart carries Monday at Rs 1.25 crore. Trackers adjust as late shows report — the direction (a small Tuesday rise) is what both versions of the data agree on.

The curve that made no sense — until it did
Look at the weekly numbers TOI carried this morning:
| Week | India net |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Rs 1.08 cr |
| Week 2 | Rs 0.40 cr |
| Week 3 | Rs 10.40 cr |
| Week 4 | Rs 61.00 cr |
| Week 5 | Rs 90.25 cr |
| Week 6 | Rs 80.25 cr |
| Week 7 | Rs 44.80 cr |
| Week 8 | Rs 29.20 cr |
Read that again. Week 1: barely Rs 1 crore. Week 5: Rs 90.25 crore — nearly 84 times the opening week. Films are supposed to fall after week one. This one climbed for a month straight, powered by word of mouth in the Hindi belt.
The Telugu release on October 9 has given it what trade circles call a “second release.” Day 64 jumped 131.9% on the back of it (tracktollywood’s tracked-gross data shows Rs 2.05 crore that day), and the film has been collecting Rs 1–3 crore daily since — more than most new releases manage in their entire run.
The ROI nobody can argue with
Asianet’s analysis this week put the reported budget at roughly Rs 2 crore. Against a Rs 438.40 crore worldwide gross, that is a return of about 219 times the budget. NDTV Profit noted the film opened at “just Rs 10 lakh” — per Koimoi’s day-wise data, Day 1 India net was indeed Rs 0.10 crore.

Twenty-one-year-old producer Anupriya Nagar — who joined after the shoot with post-production money, covering a third of the investment — got a public pat from Sanjay Dutt this week: “Your story has only just begun, I will always stand by you,” he said, per TOI. When a film this small makes this much money, everyone wants to be seen near it.

The film now sits within touching distance of Rs 440 crore worldwide. With the Telugu version still fresh and the Hindi version holding past 2,900 shows, Day 70 looks like the next small milestone — and the story of 2026’s most unlikely hit still isn’t over.
