Tuesday brought the turnaround
Monday was rough. The film crashed to around Rs 6 crore net on its second Monday — a fall of more than 70% from Sunday. Trade watchers wondered if the film had run out of steam. Tuesday answered that question.
Collections rose to Rs 8.50 crore across 14,846 shows, Sacnilk reports. The Hindi 2D version ran at 17.21% overall occupancy: 7.23% in the morning, 14.08% in the afternoon, 18.38% in the evening, and 27.92% at night. Night shows carried the day again — the same pattern the film has shown all through its second week.
Tuesday’s footfalls stood at 607,519. Total footfalls so far: 13,630,503. Overseas markets added Rs 2.50 crore on Day 12, taking the international gross to Rs 114.00 crore.
One honest note on the numbers: our Day 11 post reported Monday’s collection as Rs 6.25 crore, which was Sacnilk’s early-final figure on Tuesday morning. Sacnilk’s updated Day 12 chart lists Monday at Rs 6.00 crore — a small downward revision. Hindustan Times, working off live data on Tuesday night, had estimated Rs 8.61 crore for Day 12, close to the final Rs 8.50 crore. The opening weekend alone did Rs 176.50 crore. The second weekend — Rs 14.50, 26.50, and 22.50 crore — showed the film still had a crowd. The weekday dip is normal; what matters is that Tuesday picked up instead of sliding further.

What Rs 500 crore worldwide actually means
Only two films in 2026 have crossed Rs 500 crore worldwide so far: Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Rs 1,813.39 crore worldwide, per NDTV Profit) and now Drishyam 3 (Rs 501.80 crore). For a thriller — not a festival action spectacle — that is rare air.
It is also Ajay Devgn’s biggest film ever, and by a clear margin. The second Monday crash worried some trade voices, but the Tuesday recovery puts the film back on course for the Rs 350 crore India-net mark HT asked about this morning.
The next 48 hours decide a lot
Jailer 2 opens tomorrow (October 15). Rajinikanth’s sequel has already sold over Rs 57 crore in advance bookings. It will eat into Drishyam 3’s screens, especially in the south and in multiplexes up north.

The film’s third weekend starts Friday. If it holds — even at half of the second weekend’s pace — the India-net total should land somewhere near Rs 340 crore by Sunday. The real question is whether it can stay in theatres long enough to make a run at Rs 350 crore with Jailer 2 taking over premium screens.
